Production of the Yamaha AEX 500 began in 1998 and ended in 2000. The Yamaha AEX500 is a hybrid acoustic/jazz guitar that could deliver both acoustic and electric tones via a mini-humbucker/piezo-electric pickup combination. It has a flat spruce top with a fixed rosewood bridge and 2 f-holes.
